Certified is working with a client located in Berkeley, CA who has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer who has worked on milli volt level consumer products like battery, cellphones etc. The person will provide expert technical knowledge, including but not limited to, solar energy power generation, power distribution, electrical codes and standards, load capacities, specialized maintenance and testing. S/he will work as part of a team providing day-to-day technical knowledge. Provide overall product technical support for portable solar chargers, including processes of module assembly. THIS IS A 3 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION. Hourly Rate DOE.
General Responsibilities of the Project Team:
In-house development using specific skills and experience to develop the design and project details from concept to completion
Provide overall product technical support for portable solar chargers, including processes of module assembly
Provide support for suppliers to identify, test and specify new materials that meet the reliability requirements for the products as required
Provide support with the design, test development, materials, characterization and module assembly process working as required
Provide technical information as required.
Understand and know the operating capacities and characteristics of all equipment.
Know how to monitor and control equipment using remote digital controls and PLC systems.
Develop and review electrical design work.
Develop and review project briefs and statement of work.
Undertake detailed professional technical investigations and provide associated recommendations and reports.
Aid in the development of new strategies and plans for future operational support.
Perform specialized testing and analysis of electrical systems.
Provide general reports as required and use computer systems to record and plan work tasks.
Undertake electrical inspections and certification as required.
Provide support and technical advice to other BES employees.
When required, liaise and work closely with external contractors.
Basic Qualifications - Required Experience, Skills:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience, plus five or more years applicable engineering experience.
Minimum 2+ years relevant design experience in power generation and distribution
Demonstrated ability to develop electrical designs complete with documentation to the stage of project delivery.
Demonstrated ability to undertake technical investigations and reviews.
Use of ACAD, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Access.
Experience in working as part of a dedicated team.
